separated the combatants at game's end. The Columbus Crowd won by the
slimmest of margins, 3 to 2.
The deciding run was scored by Columbus in the 8th. After an out was
recorded, Jeff Kent tripled. Khalil Greene followed and he hit a sacrifice
fly scoring the run. Burbank threatened in the 9th but their rally came up
short.
The winning pitcher was Jake Peavy(1-2) who allowed 2 runs in 8 innings.
Akinori Otsuka earned his 4th save. Luis Ayala(1-1) suffered the loss in
relief.
